West Ham 0-2 Fulham: Pereira double secures London derby win for Cottagers

Andreas Pereira scored two goals to secure Fulham's 2-0 victory over West Ham United, marking their first away win against the Hammers since February 2004.

In the early minutes of the game, Lucas Paqueta found Vladimir Coufal, providing a great opportunity for West Ham. However, Bernd Leno made a brilliant save, deflecting the ball away from the right-back, and Michail Antonio's subsequent shot went over the crossbar.

Despite their strong start, West Ham couldn't convert their chances. Mohammed Kudus' attempt narrowly missed the target, and Paquetá's shot hit the side netting.

In contrast, Fulham capitalized on their first opportunity when Pereira punished Konstantinos Mavropanos' poor touch with a composed finish.

Pereira came close to scoring a second goal from Willian's cross, but his shot was saved by Lukasz Fabianski. Mavropanos attempted to make amends for his mistake with a header, but it was easily saved.

Joao Palhinha, James Ward-Prowse, and Paqueta had long-range shots, but they didn't trouble the goalkeepers. Meanwhile, Pereira couldn't take advantage of another poor clearance from Mavropanos as his first-time strike was held by Fabianski.

In terms of match statistics, Willian's powerful shot was saved by the goalkeeper, and Rodrigo Muniz's header was denied from a corner. Alex Iwobi also missed the target with his effort.

Ward-Prowse's header went off-target towards the end of the first half, and the game remained open as Muniz's backheel was saved shortly after the restart.

Leno had a moment of concern when he spilled the ball at Danny Ings' feet, but he quickly recovered. Fulham then launched a quick counter-attack, resulting in Iwobi's shot being impressively tipped wide by Fabianski.

As the frustrations grew for Mavropanos and his team, the center-back was forced off the field due to injury in the 60th minute. Shortly after, Leno instinctively saved Paqueta's header.

Fulham's Pereira, who had only scored once this season, calmly finished off a swift attack to secure his second goal of the afternoon, giving his team some much-needed cushion as they snapped a three-game winless streak and moved within two points of the top 10.

In addition, Fulham handed West Ham their second loss in 12 home league games, with a devastating conclusion for the Hammers as debutant George Earthy suffered a head injury just three minutes after coming on.
