West Indies fast bowler Alzarri Joseph has been suspended for two matches following an incident in which he left the field in a huff after a disagreement with captain Shai Hope during Wednesday's one-day international win against England, as announced by Cricket West Indies (CWI) on Thursday.

The bowler seemed to express frustration over the field placements after delivering a wicket maiden early in the match in Barbados. Following a tense exchange with Hope, he exited to the dressing room, temporarily leaving the home team short-handed.

"I acknowledge that my emotions got the better of me," Joseph stated in a CWI release.

"I have personally apologized to captain Shai Hope, my teammates, and the management. I also wish to extend my heartfelt apologies to the West Indies fans. I realize that even a momentary lapse in judgment can have significant repercussions, and I sincerely regret any disappointment I may have caused."

West Indies coach Daren Sammy had already condemned Joseph's behavior as unacceptable, and CWI indicated that it did not meet the professionalism expected from players.

"Such behavior cannot be ignored, and we have taken firm action to ensure that the seriousness of the situation is fully recognized," remarked Director of Cricket Miles Bascombe.

The West Indies, who secured the series 2-1 with their eight-wicket victory on Wednesday, will face England in the first of five Twenty20 Internationals at Kensington Oval on Saturday, November 9th.
