Wilfred Ndidi out of Nigeria side for Cup of Nations through injury

Ndidi sustained an injury during Leicester City's victorious 2-0 match against Cardiff City on December 29th. However, the specific details of his injury were not disclosed by either his club or Nigeria.

Meanwhile, Ndidi's teammate, Kelechi Iheanacho, is also facing injury concerns and is currently being evaluated at Nigeria's training camp in Abu Dhabi, as stated by the federation.

Iheanacho has already missed the last two matches for his club, who currently dominate the Championship in England.

On the other hand, Yusuf, who has yet to make his international debut, played a crucial role in Royal Antwerp's triumph in the Belgian league last season.

Additionally, he participated in all of their Champions League group stage matches from September to December.

Nigeria will commence their Cup of Nations campaign on January 14th, starting with a Group A match against Equatorial Guinea.

They will also face Ivory Coast and Guinea Bissau in their group stage fixtures.
