Will Jordan expresses satisfaction with All Blacks' victory over Italy despite facing intense pressure

New Zealand full-back Will Jordan (26) expressed satisfaction with the All Blacks' performance in their final autumn series test against Italy on Saturday, despite the chilly conditions and the vibrant atmosphere in Turin.

The All Blacks faced challenges in securing a decisive victory, initially falling behind before establishing a 17-6 lead at halftime. They managed to score again only ten minutes before the match concluded, ultimately winning 29-11, which was a significant difference from their 96-17 triumph at last year's World Cup.

"It was a unique test match, with temperatures around zero degrees here in Turin. The ball was slippery, the home crowd was enthusiastic, and the Italian team was highly motivated, perhaps seeking redemption after last year's encounter," Jordan remarked.

"Indeed, we did not have an easy time. It was a tough contest, but it feels good to emerge victorious."

Following their victory over Japan in October, the All Blacks secured wins against Ireland and England in November, although they faced a defeat against France last weekend. Jordan noted that his team has made strides since losing the Rugby Championship to South Africa.

"There was a bit of frustration during the match, but we conclude this tour with four victories and several positive moments," Jordan stated.

"We still have room for improvement, but we are heading in the right direction."

Jordan, who scored New Zealand's second try just before halftime, praised Italy's resilience, especially with the fervent support from their home fans.

Jordan remarked on the opposition's approach, stating, "Indeed, they were aggressive. We anticipated a physical contest, particularly from their loose forwards, who posed significant threats at the breakdown."

He continued, "I believe they performed admirably. The atmosphere was incredibly intense, with the crowd creating considerable pressure. Experiencing this different style of play in the north is beneficial for us."

The match also signified the final game for both Sam Cane and TJ Perenara in the All Black uniform, as they transition to club rugby in Japan. Cane departed the field to a standing ovation, while Perenara led the haka for the last time.

"Both are exceptional individuals within the All Blacks. They have been integral to the team since my arrival and even prior," Jordan expressed.

"Sam is truly a warrior, consistently putting his body on the line and giving his all for the black jersey."

"TJ is someone I enjoy playing alongside, though not necessarily against, which is the highest form of praise. He is a fierce competitor who sets high standards for the team."

"It was wonderful to conclude on a positive note tonight, and I am sincerely appreciative of their contributions to this jersey."
