Williamson, Ingram lead the way as Pelicans complete two-game sweep of Kings

Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram, demonstrating their commitment to late-game excellence, have dedicated extra practice time to refine their chemistry in crucial scenarios, a focus highlighted by Pelicans coach Willie Green. This concerted effort was evident in their recent game against the Sacramento Kings, where Williamson's 25 points and Ingram's 21 played pivotal roles in securing a 117-112 victory. Notably, the duo's late-game heroics, including Williamson's powerful layup and Ingram's steal and mid-range jumper, underscored their effectiveness in clutch moments.
Pelicans' coach Willie Green commended the duo's diligence and attributed the team's recent success to their collaborative efforts. This triumph marked the Pelicans' second consecutive win and fourth in five games, showcasing a remarkable turnaround from a five-game skid earlier in the season.
Jonas Valanciunas contributed significantly with a double-double of 15 points and 11 rebounds, while supporting players like Jordan Hawkins and Naji Marshall played integral roles. Despite struggling from beyond the arc, missing 23 of 30 attempts, the Pelicans dominated the paint, outscoring the Kings 62-28.
The Kings, led by De'Aaron Fox's 26 points and contributions from Domantas Sabonis and Harrison Barnes, displayed resilience, mounting a comeback that erased the Pelicans' 14-point fourth-quarter lead. However, the Pelicans maintained composure, with coach Green praising the team's ability to stay calm and make crucial shots down the stretch.
Looking ahead, the Kings are set to face Minnesota in West Group C play, while the Pelicans will take on the Los Angeles Clippers in their final West Group B game as part of the NBA In-Season Tournament.
