WSL: Lauren James hat-trick downs Liverpool, takes Chelsea six points clear at the top

Lauren James demonstrated her world-class credentials by scoring a hat-trick in Chelsea's 5-1 victory over Liverpool on Saturday.
Emma Hayes' side welcomed the Reds, hoping to rebound from a disappointing draw at Real Madrid in midweek and extend their lead at the top of the Women's Super League.
James opened the scoring on 11 minutes, finishing off a fine Blues counter-attack.
But the Blues' lead didn't last long, as Jess Carter put the ball into her own net just two minutes later.
James was at the heart of everything Chelsea did well, and it was her cross on 26 minutes that allowed Aggie Beever-Jones to score on her full league debut for the club, making it four goals in four games for the youngster.
The home side dominated proceedings again in the second half, and they added a third near the hour mark when James fired in a stunning low drive.
And, just eight minutes later, James completed her hat-trick with another fine finish, making her the youngest player in FA WSL history to have four goal involvements in a single game.
Hayes' team didn't stop there, as Sjoeke Nüsken added a fifth with 12 minutes remaining.
The victory extends Chelsea's lead at the top of the table to six points with the rest of the league in action on Sunday.
