Ons Jabeur, the 30-year-old Tunisian player, successfully overcame an early setback to secure a victory against fourth-seeded Danielle Collins, with a score of 7-6(6), 6-2 in the first round of the Adelaide International in Australia on Tuesday.

Jabeur managed to recover from a 5-3 deficit in the opening set and concluded the match with five aces, finishing in 90 minutes.

In another match, sixth-seeded Diana Shnaider from Russia recorded a 6-3, 0-6, 6-0 victory over Katerina Siniakova of the Czech Republic, despite committing five double faults and hitting two aces.

Defending champion and eighth seed Jelena Ostapenko of Latvia bounced back after losing the first four games to claim a 4-6, 6-1, 6-1 win against Poland's Magdalena Frech.

Dayana Yastremska from Ukraine staged a comeback to defeat Katie Volynets with a score of 2-6, 6-4, 6-1 in a first-round match in Australia, achieving the win in 1 hour and 58 minutes while serving two aces.

Second-seeded Elise Mertens of Belgium triumphed over Nuria Parrizas Diaz of Spain with a score of 6-3, 6-1, while third-seeded Amanda Anisimova secured a 6-3, 6-3 victory against Daria Saville of Australia. Additionally, fourth-seeded Magda Linette of Poland won against Varvara Gracheva of France with a score of 6-3, 3-6, 6-4.

Unseeded Sofia Kenin also made a comeback, defeating fifth-seeded Lulu Sun of New Zealand with a score of 4-6, 6-3, 6-3.
